Moving Past the Should-Haves
Yesterday runs behind us as fast as tomorrow arrives,
We race to see our future amazed we're alive.
What would have been, what could have been,
We ask ourselves eternal for the sake of Zen.
Never mind the empty spaces of which cannot be filled
And, never mind the giving up for the years you've killed,
Move past the sorrows which weighs beyond a few,
for the answer always lays in Emerson's timeless phrase,
Make the most of yourself for that is all there is of you ...
refrain:
Running past the should-haves ... Making the most of today.
Moving past the should-haves ... Remember what I say:
Keep on keeping on and let go of yesterdays ...
Welcome a new tomorrow and be forever out of the haze ...
